In the Autumn the colours of the sky and grass are more dull and dark, the trees are losing their leaves, and the leaves turn shades of orange, brown and even purple. So greens, reds, browns, yellows and navy are great colours for this season, especially in darker shades. Woods, coppers, plaids, dark/muted florals and animal prints are perfect textures/patterns for the autumn also, so aim for those when picking your items.
