Back to School!

It's time to go back to school & for many of you, you've probably already started. But it's never too late to change, develop and evolve your style.

Now in the UK, we have school uniforms unless you're in sixth form, but in the US you don't usually have a uniform. Either way, there are often restrictions on what you can wear.

In this post, I'll be putting together a few outfits you could wear to school (mostly aimed towards the sixth form age range); a chance for you to try something new, show your personality, and still be stylish even at school. I'll provide you with a range of options of items and price ranges so you can put together something that is appropriate for your school's clothing code. Also, it's usually getting a bit colder in the UK when it's time to go back to school, but you can easily adapt your look to accommodate the weather.

*All clothing featured is from ASOS

This outfit is stylish and sophisticated with feminine soft pink touches.
This top is simple but still has an interesting element with the neck style. As a more structured piece, when tucked in, the top would be complimentary to these high waisted pink trousers.
Adding these pointed-toe flats with the strap detail keeps the outfit looking chic and tailored; and adding the rose gold and pink watch with the pineapple ring accessories the look nicely.
Finally, this satchel-shaped bag is perfect for carrying your stuff for school as it's the perfect shape for your books, can be carried like a satchel or can be worn like a backpack to distribute the weight evenly if it's getting heavy.

Top £60 - Trousers £22 - Shoes £15.99 - Watch £22.99 - Ring £5 - Bag £25.99

If you're looking for a more punk, tomboyish vibe, this outfit makes a great statement.
This polo top is simple but has a great tartan pattern on the sleeves, nodding towards a punk theme. Keeping the black colour scheme, these black jeggings will be great for the look; not only will they be comfortable to wear all day, but they're high waisted if you want to tuck in your polo.
These wet-look, pointed-toe mules are the epitome of a laid-back rocker shoe. Not only are they cool, but they'll be comfortable to wear around school all day. Finally, accessorise this look with a black, leather strap watch and black headband with messy-waves hair, adding a backpack with silver detailing to really amp up the punk-rock vibe. Also, if it gets a bit cold where you live, just throw over your favourite leather jacket.

Top £65 - Trousers £22 - Shoes £18 - Watch £12.99 - Headband £6 - Bag £35

This is a much more casual, sporty and laid-back look; something super easy to throw on that still looks put-together.
A long sleeved baseball tee is always a great item to have in your wardrobe as it's a classic, simple piece that;s easy to style. Pairing it with these leggings is a comfy option and the white strip compliments the shirt's coloured sleeves, bringing the stripe right down to your feet, elongating you.
I like these trainers since they're a classic converse shape but in all black, and the platform will give you a little bit of extra height (every inch counts if you're 5ft tall like me!) This bomber jacket looks plain, but it has an interesting texture and is soft to the touch; paired with this quilted cap, they both compliment the chill vibe of this outfit.
Finally, you might have the option to keep most of your school stuff in a locker at school, so you could just carry around a small cross-body bag like this one to store your pens, phone and purse. This one is nice because it's a sturdy material and is a red-toned brown, so it'll add some colour to your outfit while still complimenting the red sleeves of your tee.

Top £16 - Trousers £5.99 - Shoes £14.99 - Coat £18 - Hat £7.99 - Bag £28

A simple cami is a staple piece to own and a scoop neck like this one has is flattering on everyone; when tucked into these high waisted jeans and topped with this sleek vest, it'll be a chic look to rock at school.
These boots are stylish and have a short heel, so they will still be comfortable as well as giving you some extra height. I also love the tortoise-shell look on the heel, which add a bit of interest and tie-in the gold on the choker.
A simple choker like this can be worn with any outfit. In fact, this one would look great with any of the looks I've shown you so far. The gold feather detail is a nice touch and would compliment a causal or formal look equally as well. Finally, this structured shopper is perfect to carry your books while still following the chic theme of this outfit.

Top £6 - Trousers £28 - Shoes £32 - Vest £24.99 - Necklace £5 - Bag £20

A jumpsuit is always a stylish and effortless item. You don't have to worry about matching a top and bottoms, and this one is sleek and tailored; ready to go.
These patent pointed-toe shoes are chic with a rocker vibe, which is amped up by this leather-look jacket. The peplum on his coat also compliments the tailored look of the jumpsuit.
This simple belt can be worn around your hips for some jeans or trousers, but can also be worn around your waist, which will compliment any figure with thus jumpsuit. To accessorise, I picked this delicate leaf-shaped arm cuff, which is both elegant and edgy, then finally I chose this backpack which is simple and big enough to carry your books and stationary.

Jumpsuit £25 - Shoes £19.99 - Coat £40 - Belt £8 - Cuff £4.99 - Bag £30

If you're looking to add a bit more colour to your school outfit, this bright mustard dress is perfect. It's a flattering skater dress and has cutouts on the back for a nice detail.
Keeping it cute, I've added a very muted pink cardigan with pockets, perfect for keeping you warm when there's a slight breeze.
Adding to the cute details and following most school rules about dresses, I added a pair of polka dot tights; they're really sweet and will keep your legs warm along with these over the knee socks which add more warmth and detail to your outfit (as well as covering your legs some more as most schools don't like bare legs). Finally, I chose a nice apricot handbag which is big enough to keep your school supplies in, but is also reversible! So if you'd prefer this bag in a tan colour, just turn it inside out!

Dress £20 - Shoes £7.99 - Cardigan £28 - Tights £5 - Socks £5 - Bag £22.99

This dress is casual and effortless and is long enough to abide by most school rules. I went with a laid back vibe, adding black trainers and a beanie if you're looking for an easy outfit if you're running late (and the beanie will cover that messy morning/greasy roots hair if you're strapped for time!).
I recently bought a coat like this, although it's a bit shorter considering I'm only 5ft tall! It's actually a really great item as it keeps you pretty warm, but is lightweight enough to tie around your waist if you want to take it off, and also has a hood and material ready for the rain!
I went for these mix and match rings to add some more detail to the outfit and a bit of edge since they're chains; then finally chose this mesh bag which can easily carry your stuff while still looking cool. It can be carried like any other bag but also has a strap so you can throw it over your body for when you need your hands free.
